A little girl who lives down the street and goes to the church where I preach saw me out on my porch the other day and asked, “Why didn’t you come to my birthday party?”
“Because I wasn’t invited,” I responded.
“Well, you could have come anyway.”
“Even if I didn’t know about it?”
It took her a moment, but she realized that I couldn’t possibly have come to a party I didn’t know about.
There is a party waiting for us in heaven, a celebration that will last forever. It is open to everyone who will accept the invitation. However, as good as that news is, some people haven’t gotten the message yet. It’s up to us to get the word out.
“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.’ ”—Luke 14:23.
