I noticed that a single tulip had bloomed in front of our house. Because it was under a bush, it could not be easily seen, so I decided to pick the tulip and bring it into the house and put it in water. It seemed better to enjoy its beauty rather than have it remain hidden.
The flower did brighten up our home…for about a day. Then its petals all fell off.
This is how people are if they don’t stay connected to Jesus. They may appear to be fine for a while, but they soon begin to die spiritually. That’s why it’s so important to remain rooted in Jesus.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”—John 15:5.
