Several years ago, my wife and I attended the North American Christian Convention in Denver. Wanting to spend some time in the mountains, we scheduled a week of vacation time right after the convention. We rented a car and planned to take a tour of Colorado.
When we arrived at the hotel for the convention, I went to the fitness room for a workout. There was a great view of the mountains from where I was perched on an exercise bike. I was amazed by the view, and I looked forward to actually being in those mountains in just a few days.
The next day, I went back to the fitness room and got on the bike. The sky was much clearer than it had been the day before, and when I looked toward the mountains, I could hardly believe my eyes! Beyond what I had seen the previous day, I could see even taller mountains! The view was awesome! I thought that I had seen it all the day before, but a much greater beauty was revealed to me.
Some people think that they have seen it all when they observe this present life. But God has so much more that he wants us to see! He wants to open our eyes to a spiritual reality that is not limited to what we see around us.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”—but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.”
Don’t miss the view! It’s spectacular!
