Sweet Harmony

Emmylou Harris

Emmylou Harris

“You create a new voice with a combination of two or three. It’s always unique and always changing. Collaboration is what I love best about making music.”—Emmylou Harris.

Until I read the above quote, I never thought about how unique the collective voice of a local congregation is when they lift up their voices together to praise the Lord. When you unite with your church family on Sunday morning to sing songs of worship, you create a voice of worship like none other on earth.

“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord.”—Ephesians 5:19.

this is a great perspective on corporate worship. Last Sunday was electric-the countenance of faces, the sounds from instruments being played for the Lord, and the utterance of words from from the heart of the worshippers. The raised hands all over the room were icing on the cake. I believe the Spirit of God rained down on us in a a fresh, new way.
