“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.”—Stephen Covey.
Sometimes we struggle to maintain our priorities. Programs and ministries within the church are begun with the right motives, but often take on a life of their own and actually distract us from what we really should be doing.
Our thoughts tend to wander from the important to the insignificant, and therefore we spend too much time contemplating trivial matters.
Paul reminds us, “…The important thing is that in every way…Christ is preached…”—Philippians 1:18.
Communion is an excellent reminder of one of our top priorities. Indeed, when we participate in the Lord’s Supper together, we preach Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:26 says, “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
Let’s keep the main thing the main thing.
