My great-great grandmother prepared communion for her little country church for at least 47 years. When she could no longer perform this duty, my grandmother took over for her, and she carried on this family tradition for another 40 years. That’s quite a record of continual service from one family!
Christians all over the world have been faithfully observing the Lord’s Supper for nearly 2,000 years. When we take communion together, we carry on a tradition that God’s family has been participating in for a long time. Let’s continue the tradition, and pass it along to those who follow after us.
