6-year-old Nathan Woessner was playing on a massive sand dune in northern Indiana with his father and a friend last Friday. Suddenly, Nathan disappeared from sight. More than 3 hours later, rescuers pulled him from the sand. He showed no signs of life, and he was put in the back of a pickup truck to be taken to a waiting ambulance.
As the truck moved along, it hit a bump that apparently jarred Nathan’s body back to life. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Nathan is expected to recover and may be released after 10-14 days in the hospital.
Sometimes a bump in the road can bring someone back to life spiritually. A serious illness, the death of a loved one or some other traumatic experience might be what it takes to get someone to wake up and become serious about living for Jesus.
We ought to be on the lookout for people who are suddenly jarred to their senses. They often need someone to help them through the experience.
“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.”—Colossians 4:5.
