Eric Metaxas is a commentator for Breakpoint.org, a Christian worldview ministry that was established by the late Chuck Colson. Metaxas recently had the privilege of giving the baccalaureate address at Liberty University. He says this about his speech–“My advice to the graduates actually can be summed up in two words; ‘Follow Jesus.’ Obviously, I said more, but everything I did say came back to those two words.”
That’s a simple, yet profound, outline for anyone’s life. You can’t go wrong by following Jesus…ever. You might find yourself in some uncomfortable—even painful—situations. You will have difficulties that you could have avoided by choosing an easier path. You won’t find the world patting you on the back for making the decisions that you will make because you are a Christ-follower.
However, in the end, you will not regret having chosen to follow Jesus. It’s the best advice you could ever heed.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”—Matthew 4:19.
