While walking in downtown Indianapolis, I was approached by a man. After making some polite conversation, he mentioned that he had not had anything to eat all day, and asked if I would give him some money. “Just a dollar or two would really help me.”
Skeptical about giving money that might be used for drugs or alcohol, I had a better idea. “Why don’t you walk with me and let me buy you something to eat?”
“That’s all right”, he answered, and abruptly walked away.
I don’t think he was really all that hungry. Do you?
People often say that they are hungry for God. However, when the opportunity comes to be filled, many say, “That’s all right”, and walk away.
Let’s be truly hungry for God.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”—Matthew 5:6.
