I recently saw a video of a boy playing an arcade game that consisted of shooting small basketballs into a goal. I have tried this before, so I know how difficult it is to score. However, this young man was making it look ridiculously easy. He was shooting with either hand—left, then right. He shot so quickly that there was always a ball in the air. Yet he was not throwing the balls up there without aiming. His accuracy was amazing! The scoreboard was working hard to keep track of his points!
This reminded me of how we need to be diligent in working for the Lord. We should try to combine speed with accuracy. Some of us take too much time to set our sights, and sometimes we rarely ever take a shot. Others are super busy, running willy-nilly from one unplanned activity to the next, never really taking aim at anything and usually missing the mark.
Let’s try to do all we can to score points for the Lord.
“Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”—Ecclesiastes 11:6.
