It’s tournament time for high school baseball in Lexington, Kentucky. The Henry Clay Devils recently beat Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 3-0.
One of Henry Clay’s top players, Cameron Lord, hit a home run and played some good defense in his team’s big win. A caption under a picture in the Lexington Herald-Leader said in part: “Lord also helped the Devils turn a nifty double play in the fifth”.
Lord helped the Devils?! You have to smile at that wordplay.
However, it reminds us that there is a spiritual battle going on that is much more important than any ball game. There is a war between Good and Evil, and each one of us must decide which side we are on.
Choose the Lord’s side!
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”—Ephesians 6:10-11.
