When a bar opened up for business in a small town, the only church in the community decided to take action. They organized an all-night prayer meeting. The church members asked God to burn down the bar. Within a few minutes, lightning struck the bar, and it burned to the ground. The owner, who had heard about the prayer meeting, sued the church. The church denied responsibility.
After hearing both sides, the judge said, “It seems that wherever the guilt may lie, the owner of the bar believes in prayer, while the church doesn’t!”
Do you believe in the power of prayer?
“…The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”—James 5:16.
Ha..awesome.
Reblogged this on Truth in Palmyra.
Enjoyed that, thanks. 🙂
Lol! I love it! Weren’t the church spoilsports?! Couldn’t they just have ‘loved’ those people? Been witnesses to them? And yes – I believe in the power of prayer! Remain in the Truth – Reuben
