Several years ago, a local disc jockey played a Charlie Daniels song, The Devil Went Down to Georgia, on his live radio show. The DJ didn’t realize that he had inadvertently put on the uncensored version, the one that uses a phrase that many people think is inappropriate language.
Soon after the questionable phrase in the song was uttered, listeners heard an abrupt screeching sound as the record was quickly pulled from the turntable. This was immediately followed by the sound of the record smashing against the wall. The DJ quickly promised that the listeners would never hear that record again on his show!
If only more people were that concerned about using appropriate language!
“Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.”—Ephesians 5:4.
I admit this is something I’ve been working on and keep praying for God to help me with.
