“Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother…When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”–John 19:25-27.

In these verses, we see the love that Jesus had for his mother. He made sure that she would be cared for after his death, burial, resurrection and ascension into heaven.

We also see in this scene the love that Jesus had for all mothers, for fathers and for children too. His love for all humanity is shown in how he provided for our eternal care by dying to pay for our sins.
