When I baptize people, they sometimes show their joy in a tangible way before they even get out of the water. This is understandable, since they realize that their sins have been washed away (Acts 22:16) and they have been united with Jesus (Rom.6:3-4).
Over the years I have received several wet hugs in the baptistery. Recently I baptized a lady who not only gave me a big hug, she also planted a kiss on my cheek for good measure!
It’s making me look forward to my next baptism!
“Greet one another with a holy kiss…”—Romans 16:16.
