A teenager lost a contact lens while playing basketball in his driveway. After a brief search, he gave up looking for it and told his mother what had happened. She immediately started searching for it and within a few minutes she found the lens.
“How did you find it so quickly when I couldn’t do it?” her son asked.
“It’s really quite simple,” she answered. “We weren’t looking for the same thing. You were looking for a small piece of plastic. I was looking for $150!”
Many people underestimate the value of God’s kingdom, therefore they don’t seek it diligently.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”—Matthew 13:45-46.
