One New Year’s Day, a float in the Tournament of Roses parade suddenly started to sputter and then came to a stop. It had run out of gas. The parade was held up until someone could bring a can of gas.
What is ironic about this story is the fact that the float that ran out of gas was sponsored by the Standard Oil Company. Even with access to such a great amount of resources, the float ran out of gas.
The same thing happens to a lot of Christians. Even having been given the gift of the Holy Spirit, we sometimes fail to take advantage of this unlimited source of power, and our lives come to a sudden stop. We shouldn’t allow this to happen.
“To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.”—Colossians 1:29.
