A friend and I sat and watched our church praise team practice before worship yesterday. We must have looked like we carried the weight of the world on our shoulders, because one of the singers suggested that we smile. Apparently, our sad demeanor was bringing everyone down!
So we concentrated on using our faces to show our joy.
Just to make sure that we looked joyful, Timmy, our sound technician, quickly drew smiles on sticky notes and gave them to us. I suppose a pasted on smile is better than none at all!
We do have so much to cause us to rejoice. Jesus died to pay for our sins. He defeated death when he rose from the tomb. He promises to always be with us. And he will one day escort us into an eternity filled with blessings we cannot yet fully comprehend!
That ought to put a smile on your face!
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”—Philippians 4:4.
