For those who still hold to the quaint notion that character actually matters, there is a Bible verse that speaks to this issue. Acts 17:11 says, “Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”
There seems to be a direct link between your character and your willingness to accept what the Scripture says and apply it to your life.
So, here are a couple of quick questions. Do you have the kind of character that leads you to be involved in a regular, on-going pursuit of Bible knowledge? Do you allow the Bible to further shape your character so that you can grow to be mature in your faith?
