How Do You Like Your Pretzel?

pretzel-sticksYesterday’s “The Family Circus” cartoon showed little Dolly holding a pretzel stick and saying to her mother, “Mommy, can you fix my pretzel? I like ‘em loopy, not straight.”

How do you like your pretzel? Loopy or straight? It really doesn’t make any difference to me. What I am concerned about is the difference between what is morally upright and what is…well…loopy. You see, God sets the moral standards, and the world—the loopy bunch of people who defy God—twists the truth to fit their own evil desires. We would do well to choose the straight and narrow path.

Proverbs 2:12-15 says, “Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.”

Eat any kind of pretzel you like, but choose your actions wisely.
