A friend of mind just finished reading through the entire Bible for the first time. As I congratulated him for his achievement, I told him that he had done something that many Christians never accomplish in their lifetime.

It is a shame that so many Christ followers do not give Bible reading a higher priority. We can’t hope to be everything that God created us to be if we do not delve into his Word on a regular basis. By paying more attention to what God says to us we can do a much better job of fulfilling our purpose in life.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”—2 Timothy 3:16-17.
