In a recent Zits comic strip, a conversation between teenager Jeremy and his father went like this:

Jeremy: “Oh, great. We’re out of milk.”

Dad: “There’s still plenty of skim milk.”

Jeremy: “Oh. Okay…In that case, we’re just out of milk that tastes like milk.”

Dad: “Welcome to my world.”

We live in a world that is full of unsatisfactory substitutes for Jesus. Thank goodness we have the real thing!
